U.S. District Judge Robert Blackburn has dismissed the Title IX lawsuit. Here are statements from President Hoffman and Chancellor DiStefano.

Statement from CU President Elizabeth Hoffman

I am relieved and gratified that the court has granted our motion for summary judgment.

This ruling supports what we have always known, that this University has never acted with indifference toward its students. We have always cared deeply for our students and have worked hard to create a supportive environment in which they can learn.

While we are pleased by todayÂ’s ruling, we want to be clear that our commitment to women, victimsÂ’ rights and victimsÂ’ assistance remains steadfast.

We will continue to implement the changes we began last year so that all Coloradans can be assured that CU will conduct itself with the high integrity and ethics they have a right to expect.

CU is a great university. It has achieved wondrous things in the past, and has great achievements ahead of it.

TodayÂ’s ruling is an important step in helping us to move toward a very bright future.

Statement By Chancellor Phil DiStefano

I am heartened by the judge's granting of summary judgment today. We are committed to continuing the important reforms in athletics that were initiated last May. The Boulder campus will remain focused on building a learning environment that supports the well-being and safety of all our students.
