Statement By Pauline Hale, CU-Boulder Spokesperson

Today, we learned of the death of a 21-year-old male student whose body was found in Bear Creek Apartments at Williams Village, an apartment complex located on campus at 3275 Apache Road in Boulder. The young man's body was found by his roommate this morning. An investigation into the death is being conducted by the University of Colorado Police Department.

At this time, we do not know the cause of death. Officers still are gathering information, but initial investigation does not indicate any signs of foul play, threat to the community or other safety concerns. As we learn more from the police investigation and coroner's report, more information will be provided.

This fall, the University community has sustained a number of tragedies involving the deaths of young people. We are deeply saddened and shocked by this loss of life. We have arranged for grief counseling for anyone in the campus community who needs help in dealing with their grief and shock.
