The student-run Honor Code Council at the University of Colorado at Boulder is hosting a talk by former Enron executive and author Lynn Brewer on Wednesday, Nov. 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry Building room 140.

Brewer will give the keynote address for "Integrity Week," a series of events to be held Nov. 8-11 to increase awareness of academic integrity and the honor code among students, faculty and staff on the Boulder campus. All events are free and open to the public.

In her nearly 20 years at Enron, Brewer was responsible for risk management in Energy Operations, the e-commerce initiatives for Enron's water subsidiary and competitive intelligence for Enron Broadband Services.

During her tenure, she witnessed numerous instances of illegal and corrupt dealings, including bank fraud, espionage, power price manipulation and gross overstatements made to the press, public and financial world. When her attempts to notify those inside Enron of her knowledge failed, along with her efforts to elicit a response from the U.S. government, Brewer persisted to get the truth out about the corporate scandal.

Since leaving Enron, Brewer has become an outspoken advocate of cultural integrity. Her book, "House of Cards: Confessions of an Enron Executive," takes a close look at her Enron career. She also consults on corporate governance with an emphasis on reputation risk management and ethical literacy.

Additional Integrity Week activities include:

- Monday, Nov. 8 -- "Shattered Glass," a movie about a young journalist who fabricated many of his articles, 7 p.m., Mathematics Building room 100.
