CU-Boulder officials expect parking on campus to be at a premium for the sold-out Sept. 4 CU-CSU football game at Folsom Field and suggest that fans consider alternative parking for the 6 p.m. game.

Adding to the parking congestion this year is the closure of the Crossroads Mall parking lot due to construction. The lot had parked about 1,000 vehicles. Another change for the 2004 football season is an increase in campus parking fees to $20 per space.

Public parking lots on campus will open at 2 p.m. on game day. Parking also will be allowed on designated recreation fields, weather permitting.

For alternative parking, the Regional Transportation District's BuffRide will be operating throughout the Denver metro area and Longmont. Buses start departing about two-and-a-quarter hours before kickoff from all locations including the Boulder Park-n-Ride at Table Mesa and Foothills Parkway, the Westminster Center Park-n-Ride at Wadsworth Boulevard and U.S. 36, the Flatirons Crossing Park-n-Ride at Flatiron Drive and U.S. 36, and the Roosevelt Park-n-Ride at 815 S. Main in Longmont.

Call (303) 299-6000 for exact BuffRide times or go to the RTD Web site at .

The city of Boulder offers free parking on weekends in its four downtown parking garages located on or near Pearl Street between 11th Street and 16th Street. For garage locations call (303) 413-7300.

Bus service to the stadium also is available from downtown Boulder to the campus via RTD's HOP and SKIP bus routes. The HOP arrives at 15th Street and Pearl Street every 15 minutes. After the game, the HOP picks up at Folsom and Colorado.

Riders can get on the SKIP at the Boulder downtown bus terminal at 14th Street and Walnut every 15 minutes beginning at 12 minutes after the hour. After the game riders can board the SKIP at Broadway and 16th Street across from the University Memorial Center.

Disability parking is available at the Euclid Avenue Autopark. A wheelchair-accessible shuttle will be on hand to transport people between the parking structure and Folsom Stadium continuously for two hours before kickoff and for two hours after the game.
