The University of Colorado at Boulder Center for Asian Studies will hold the third annual Asia Day cultural event on Sunday, Feb. 29, from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Fleming Law Building.

The event is free and open to the public and is funded by a grant from the Freeman Foundation. Activities for children will be held throughout the day.

Cultural activities for the day include calligraphy workshops, flower arranging, tai chi demonstrations, language classes and origami. Other festivities include music and dance from Asia, documentaries and informative talks.

"Asia Day 2004 will have something for everyone: hands-on activities for kids, talks on pop culture for teens and thought-provoking documentaries and lectures for adults," said Lynn Kalinauskas, associate director of the Center for Asian Studies.

Gift certificates from local shops and restaurants will be given as prizes. Asian foods also will be available to sample.

The Fleming Law Building is located at the corner of Baseline Road and Broadway, accessible via Regent Drive.
