Special recognition ceremonies to commemorate individual students will be held by most University of Colorado at Boulder schools and colleges in addition to the main university commencement ceremony on Dec. 19.

Following is a schedule of special events in the schools and colleges.

* School of Journalism and Mass Communication recognition ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 2:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Fred Brown, former chief of the Denver Post's capitol bureau and one of the authors of the Society of Professional Journalists' Code of Ethics, is the speaker.

* College of Architecture and Planning recognition ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m. in Muenzinger Auditorium E050, with a reception to follow in the Environmental Design Building, room 134.

* College of Music recognition ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 3 p.m. in the Imig Music Building's Grusin Music Hall, with a reception to follow in Imig Music, room C113.

* Leeds School of Business recognition ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 5 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Patrick Long, a professor of tourism management at CU-Boulder, will be the speaker.

* College of Engineering and Applied Science recognition ceremony, Thursday, Dec. 18, at 8 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Peter Mannetti, managing partner of iSherpa Capital, will be the speaker.

* Graduate School reception for doctoral students, Friday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. in Fiske Planetarium.

* School of Law recognition ceremony and reception, Friday, Dec. 19, immediately following the university ceremony in the Fleming Law Building, Moorhead-Rutledge Lounge.

Many departments in the College of Arts and Sciences will hold events to recognize their graduates. Many of these events may not be open to the public, and in some cases tickets may be required.
