CU-Boulder Research Associate Mark Serreze will participate in a NASA Earth Science Briefing in Washington, D.C., Oct. 23 on the worldwide impact of a reduction in Arctic Sea Ice over the past 20 years and a simultaneous warming trend.

The 11 a.m. MDT briefing also will include Research Scientist Josifino Comiso of NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., Oceanographer Michael Steele of the University of Washington and David Rind of the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies in New York. Program Scientist Waleed Abdalati of NASA Headquarters in Washington, D.C., will moderate the event.

NASA TV will carry the program live with two-way question-and-answer capability for reporters covering the event from participating agency centers. NASA TV is available on AMC-9, transponder 9C, C-band, located at 85 degrees west longitude. The frequency is 3880.0 MHz. Polarization is vertical, and audio is monaural at 6.80 MHz.
