The CU-Boulder Colorado Executive Development in Residence program is accepting enrollment for this summer through July 21. The 10-day program takes place July 21 through Aug. 1 at the Leeds School of Business.

The program offers experienced managers an overview of business fundamentals such as accounting, leadership and finance. CEDIR participants will enhance their business expertise and learn about the latest management practices.

"This program is for businesspeople and technical professionals who want to hone their business skills but don't have the time for an entire MBA program," said Steven Manaster, dean of the Leeds School.

Classes are taught by Leeds School faculty who have extensive experience educating executives.

Participants can take between one and four classes each summer. They can earn a certificate in accounting and finance or leadership by enrolling in first-year courses on these topics. Participants who take classes for three consecutive summers earn a certificate in executive management.

New participants in CEDIR learn about financial management and leading and managing in changing times. They also are exposed to fresh perspectives in "creative destruction for organizational renewal."

Executives from leading companies such as IBM and Sun Microsystems currently participate in the program.

"CEDIR provides a unique opportunity for executives from both established Fortune 500 companies and small start-ups to learn from world-class faculty and classmates," said Manaster. "The environment at CEDIR enables its participants to take cutting-edge ideas and training to market."

The CEDIR program is offered through the Center for Business Education, a joint program of the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business and the Division of Continuing Education.
