The CU Parents Association has awarded $41,000 in scholarships to 41 undergraduate students at the University of Colorado at Boulder, according to Peter Simons, director of the Office of Parent Relations.

The scholarship awards are merit-based and are presented each spring. Scholarships are made possible by CU Parents Association fund-raising efforts. Interested students must complete and submit an application by early March.

This year, $17,000 in scholarships was awarded to 17 incoming freshmen. Another $24,000 in scholarships was awarded to 24 continuing students.

The CU Parents Association provides a variety of services to parents, students, faculty and the campus administration and sponsors numerous activities, including Family Weekend, orientation activities, scholarships and grants.

Parents of undergraduate students enrolled at the university automatically become members of the CU Parents Association. No fees or dues are required.
