Special recognition ceremonies will be held by most University of Colorado at Boulder schools and colleges in addition to the main university commencement ceremony on Friday, May 9, at 8:30 a.m. in Folsom Stadium.

Following is a schedule of special events in the schools and colleges.

* College of Architecture and Planning recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 2 p.m. in Cristol Chemistry and Biochemistry, room 140.

* Leeds School of Business recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 4:30 p.m. in Coors Events/Conference Center.

* Leeds School of Business MBA recognition ceremony, Friday, May 9, at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Dick Engebretson, president of DMG World Media, will be the speaker.

* School of Education recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. Gully Stanford of the Colorado Commission on Higher Education will be the speaker.

* College of Engineering and Applied Science recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 8 p.m. in Coors Events/Conference Center. Claudia Coleman, co-founder of the University of Colorado Coleman Institute for Cognitive Disabilities, will be the speaker.

* Graduate School reception for doctoral students, Friday, May 9, at 10:30 a.m. in Fiske Planetarium.

* School of Journalism and Mass Communication recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 2:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium. KOA radio sports announcer Larry Zimmer will be the speaker.

* School of Law recognition ceremony, Friday, May 9, at 2 p.m. in Macky Auditorium, with a reception to follow on the Norlin Quadrangle. Colorado Attorney General Ken Salazar will be the speaker.

* College of Music recognition ceremony, Thursday, May 8, at 3 p.m. in the Imig Music Building's Grusin Music Hall. Colleen Conant, editor and publisher of the Daily Camera, will be the speaker.

Many departments in the College of Arts and Sciences will hold events to recognize their graduates. Many of these events may not be open to the public, and in some cases tickets may be required.
