Larry Zimmer, renowned sports announcer and adjunct instructor of sports broadcasting at the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Journalism and Mass Communication, will deliver the School's commencement address on May 8 at 2:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium.

The School of Journalism and Mass Communication will award 211 degrees on May 9.

Zimmer, fondly known as the "Voice of the Buffs," has a lengthy and impressive broadcast history. In addition to serving as play-by-play announcer for the Colorado Buffalo Radio Network for the past 29 years, Zimmer has provided play-by-play and color commentary for the Denver Broncos, Colorado State football, the Western Athletic Conference and NCAA basketball tournaments, to name a few. He also has broadcast four Super Bowls, worked with the CBS Radio team covering the 1980 Winter Olympics in Lake Placid, N.Y., and anchored coverage of numerous World Cup Ski events, professional ski races and major golf tournaments. Zimmer is the recipient of numerous awards and honors including "Who's Who in America" for eight years - including 2003 - and Colorado Broadcaster of the Year in 1995.
