The CU-Boulder Alumni Association will honor 10 outstanding members of the campus community on May 7 including head women's basketball coach Ceal Barry.
They will be recognized for their distinguished careers and exceptional contributions to CU and society during the 73rd Annual Alumni Awards ceremony at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, May 7, in the Old Main Chapel on the Boulder campus.

Three CU faculty and staff members will receive the Robert Stearns Award in recognition of their extraordinary contributions to the university:
* Barry, CU's head women's basketball coach for 20 seasons, has coached more than 600 games at CU. The 1996 assistant Olympic coach has led her teams to 20 or more victories during 12 seasons and made the NCAA tourney 11 times. This year's Buff senior captains -- Linda Lappe, Sabrina Scott and Diane Spencer -- nominated Barry for the award.
* Robert Pois is a history professor at CU and has taught at the university since 1965. He is an accomplished writer and researcher, and has won numerous teaching awards.
* Robert Sievers is a chemistry professor, a fellow of the Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Sciences and director of the Environmental Program. He served two terms as a CU regent and has taught at the university for 28 years.
The association also will present the George Norlin Award recognizing outstanding alumni. Thomas B.W. Kirk of Upton, N.Y., and Mauritz Mortenson Jr. of Minneapolis will be honored for their lifetime achievements and devotion to the betterment of society.
Kirk is the associate laboratory director for high-energy nuclear physics at the Brookhaven National Laboratory. Mortenson is chair and CEO of M.A. Mortenson Co., one of the largest general contractors in the United States.
In honor of their support of higher education, state Reps. Tom Plant and Lola Spradley will receive CU Legislative Recognition Awards. U.S. Rep. Scott McInnis will receive the Congressional Recognition Award.
Donald Estes of Littleton will receive this year's Alumni Recognition Award in honor of his service to CU. Estes served on the Alumni Association's national board for eight years, including three as chair, and was on a number of important university search committees. The seasoned business executive is retired from a 37-year career as president and CEO of Mountain Bell Technologies and vice president of marketing for U S West Communications federal services.
The Board of Directors Award will go to Lorin Chevalier of Dallas, who served on CU's Board of Directors for seven years, including two years as chair. He is CFO of the employer solutions division of ValueOptions, a nationwide health care company.
The awards ceremony is sponsored by the Denver law firm of Davis, Graham & Stubbs.
