Richard Wobbekind, associate dean of external relations at the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business, has won the Boulder Chamber of Commerce "Member of Distinction" award for his numerous contributions to the organization.

Wobbekind is an economics professor and director of the Business Research Division. He was recognized for his contributions to the chamber and the Boulder Economic Council.

Wobbekind worked with the chamber to identify the economic impact of federal laboratories on Boulder County. He has volunteered with the chamber's Student Leadership Boulder Program, which provides Boulder Valley high school juniors a broader view of civic leadership through direct contact with a wide spectrum of institutions and people that shape the community.

He is responsible for developing and presenting the annual Colorado Business Economic Outlook Forum and various assessments of the state and local economy.

The Boulder Chamber of Commerce is comprised of more than 1,800 members. For the past 97 years, the chamber has honored members who have provided distinguished service to the Boulder community.
