CU Astronaut-Alum Scott Carpenter Jan. 31 Event to be Rescheduled

A talk and book signing event featuring University of Colorado at Boulder astronaut-alumnus Scott Carpenter originally scheduled for Friday, Jan. 31, on campus has been delayed due to a death in the family.

Carpenter was scheduled to be on the CU-Boulder campus to talk about his new book, "For Spacious Skies: The Uncommon Journey of a Mercury Astronaut."Ìý

The second astronaut to orbit the Earth, Carpenter grew up in Boulder and became one of seven Project Mercury astronauts to take part in America's pioneering space program in the 1960s. He was the second astronaut to orbit Earth.
