A finalist for the position of executive director of University Communications at the University of Colorado at Boulder is scheduled for campus interviews on Monday, Nov. 18, according to Ric Porreca, chair of the committee and senior vice chancellor and chief financial officer.

The candidate, Patrick Strickler, is currently the director of communications at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He has more than 25 years of responsibility in public relations, public affairs management and journalism and Web and marketing services.

Strickler's educational experience includes a bachelor's degree in mass communications from the University of Notre Dame, executive education in strategy and organization from Stanford University and a Congressional Fellowship in Legislative Policy from the Brookings Institution in Washington, D.C.

Strickler will meet with Chancellor Richard L. Byyny, Provost Phil DiStefano and the vice chancellors, university communications staff and several university affiliates. Times and locations for the meetings will be distributed by search committee staff.

Porreca said that subsequent interviews with additional candidates would be determined after Strickler's visit.

The position of executive director of university communications became vacant in early July following the departure of Bobbi Barrow, who left the university to join Denver Health Medical Center.Ìý
