The University of Colorado at Boulder has added 11 new Study Abroad programs, increasing the total number to 150 in 68 countries.

CU-Boulder faculty members will accompany students in two of the new programs, the East Asian Studies summer program and the West African Music and Cultures summer program in Ghana. In the latter program, Professor Kwasi Ampene of the College of Music will instruct students in his native country.

New courses offered through the Council of International Education Exchange include programs in Salvador da Bahia, Brazil; Valparaiso, Chile; Havana, Cuba; Guanajuato, Mexico; Dakar, Senegal; and London.

A program on Economic Development and Globalization in Santiago, Chile, is available through the School for International Training, along with a transnational program in the Balkans on Women and Democratization that includes visits to Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia and Bosnia.

Another new program will be held at the University of Otago in Dunedin, New Zealand.

A record 861 students participated in CU-Boulder's Study Abroad programs last year.

Â鶹ÒùÔº receive in-residence credit for courses taken in a CU-Boulder sponsored program. Pre-departure orientation sessions are offered on campus for all programs. Financial aid and scholarships are available.
