The Natural Resources Law Center at the University of Colorado at Boulder recently appointed David Hayes, Sylvia Baca, Ken Hubbard and Lorna Babby to its advisory board.

"We're enormously grateful that people of this stature and experience in natural resources law have agreed to serve on the center's advisory board," said Jim Martin, director of the NRLC.

David Hayes, former deputy secretary of the Department of the Interior in the Clinton administration, is now the chairman of Latham and Watkins' global environmental department, based in Washington, DC. He has practiced in the field for more than 20 years and focuses on counseling, litigation and transactions involving environmental, energy and natural resources matters.

Sylvia Baca also served in the Clinton administration in the Department of the Interior as assistant secretary for land and minerals management. She is now a vice president for health, safety and environment for BP North America.

Ken Hubbard works at the firm of Fognanai, Guibord, Homsy & Roberts, where he specializes in oil and gas and mining law. He is a past chairman of the Rocky Mountain Mineral Law Fund and remains active with that organization.

Lorna Babby, an attorney with the Native American Rights Fund, is currently handling water matters at NARF's Boulder office. Prior to joining NARF, Babby worked as a staff attorney with the Indian Law Resource Center and in the Human Rights Division of the German Federal Ministry of Justice. She is a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe.

The NRLC Advisory Board has 22 members, each with significant experience in the natural resources field.

The Natural Resources Law Center is a research and educational program at the University of Colorado School of Law. The center marks its 20th anniversary this year.
