Â鶹ÒùÔº at the CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business will offer their recommendations on how Colorado and specific tourist destinations can best employ sustainable business practices at the first Sustainable Practices in Tourism event on Thursday, April 25.

Industry leaders selected the top four teams from each of the two Tourism Destination Development courses taught by Professor Patrick Long. The finalists will discuss the impacts of tourism on business and economic development, natural resources and the environment, culture and history, and community and society, both to the state of Colorado and to specific tourism destinations in the West.

"The quality of life for citizens of Colorado as well as for tourism destinations across the state and throughout the West rests in large measure on our collective ability to effectively plan and manage tourism," stated Judy Walden, chair of the school's Tourism Industry Advisory Council. "We're hoping that through these presentations we'll help raise awareness about what sustainable tourism is and what it means to Colorado."

Each of the teams will receive travel-related prizes for their efforts.
