The University of Colorado at Boulder's Colorado Executive Development in Residence program, or CEDIR, is now accepting enrollment for this summer. The program offers experienced managers a critical overview of business fundamentals such as accounting, marketing and finance.

CEDIR runs for two weeks each summer for three years, for a total of six weeks. This summer's program runs July 22 through Aug. 2. Participants gain a solid foundation in fundamental business skills, enhance their business expertise and learn about the latest management practices and how to be more effective employees. Classes are taught by Leeds School of Business faculty who have extensive experience educating executives.

During the first year of CEDIR, participants learn about corporate financial reporting, financial management, leading and managing in changing times and management of technology and innovation. The second year covers strategic marketing management, business performance excellence, e-venturing and hiring and retaining critical human resources. The final year teaches concepts about business strategy in the Internet age, financial strategy and new product and service development.

Upon completion of the program, participants earn a Certificate in Executive Management from CU-Boulder. Executives from leading companies such as IBM and Sun Microsystems currently participate in the program.

"CEDIR provides a unique opportunity for executives from both established Fortune 500 companies and small startups to learn from world-renowned faculty and classmates," said Deanna Knowles, director of the program. "The environment at CEDIR enables its participants to take cutting-edge ideas and training to market."

The CEDIR program is offered through the Center for Business Education, a joint program of the Leeds School of Business and the Division of Continuing Education.
