The Colorado Court of Appeals will hear arguments in the Lindsley Memorial Courtroom at the University of Colorado at Boulder School of Law March 12 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Â鶹ÒùÔº will get a chance to hear oral arguments, ask the presiding judges questions and attend a reception afterward in the Moorhead-Rutledge Lounge.
A civil and a criminal case will be heard. In the criminal case, Claire Christine Walsh is appealing her conviction for first degree murder.
The civil case involves a dispute between the Universal Communications Company and the Colorado Collection Agency Board, which claims that UCC is operating as an illegal collection agency.
One of the three presiding judges, Jim Casebolt, is a 1975 alumnus of the CU law school.
Prior to the oral arguments, the School of Law's Career Services Office will sponsor a judicial clerkship question-and-answer session with students in room 104 of the law school from noon to 12:50 p.m. Judges and clerks will talk about the judicial clerkship hiring process and job duties.
The Colorado Court of Appeals is the second highest state court, behind the Colorado Supreme Court, and normally hears cases at the Court of Appeals Courthouse in Denver.
