Robyn Ochs, writer, speaker, activist and workshop leader, will present "Bisexuality, Feminism, Men and Me" at the University of Colorado at Boulder on March 13 at 7 p.m. in Cristol Chemistry Building room 142.

Ochs is a co-founder of the Boston Bisexual Women's Network and the East Coast Bisexual Network. She has taught courses on bisexual identity at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Tufts University.

According to Bruce Smail, director of the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center, Ochs' expertise on bisexual identity, GLBT cultures and coalition building provides new perspectives for the Boulder campus.

"Understanding and accepting a bisexuality identity is a key developmental issue," Smail said. "Often, the bisexual community is silenced or rendered on the borderlands between gay, lesbian and heterosexual communities. Ochs provides a voice for the bisexual and women communities within the GLBT movement."

Ochs is the editor of the "Bisexual Resource Guide" and the "International Directory of Bisexual Groups." Her writings have been published in several anthologies and she has appeared as an expert on television talk shows and in national magazines.Ìý

She has given keynote addresses, workshops and talks at a number of college campuses, including Brown University, Columbia University, Harvard, Yale, Oklahoma State, the University of Northern Colorado and others. She also has conducted workshops or appeared on panels at national and international conferences.

Ochs' visit is sponsored by the GLBT Resource Center, the department of Housing, the Women's Studies Program, Counseling & Psychological Services: A Multicultural Center, the LGBT Studies Certificate Program and United Ministries in Higher Education.

The GLBT Resource Center provides information, referral services, programming and advocacy for the GLBT communities at CU-Boulder. For more information call (303) 492-1377 or visit the Web site at .
