CU-Boulder Leeds School of Business Dean Steven Manaster and Dean of Continuing Education Anne Heinz have appointed Deanna Knowles as director of CU's Center for Business Education.

"Deanna's extensive background in business development will greatly benefit the Center for Business Education's goals to provide quality continuing education in business," said Manaster.

The Center for Business Education is a partnership between the CU Leeds School of Business and the Division for Continuing Education and develops and delivers executive and professional business education certificate programs. The two established programs are the Colorado Executive Development in Residence and the CU Business Intensive Certificate.

As director, Knowles' responsibilities include operations, program development and recruitment for the center. Her appointment was effective in September.

Prior to joining CU-Boulder, Knowles was the northern Colorado branch manager for INROADS/Colorado Inc., a nonprofit career development organization for students of diverse backgrounds. In that capacity, she developed business relationships with corporations, recruited students into the program and assisted with preparing students for employment at corporations.

In October, the business school received a $35 million commitment from the Leeds family of New York to endow the Leeds School of Business. The school is committed to advancing business and society through its academic programs.
