The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts has launched "Salsa y Santos," an exhibit celebrating Latino art and artists.

The exhibit, which runs through Sept. 28 and is free and open to the public, was organized by the art center and University of Colorado at Boulder fine arts Professor George Rivera, who is curator of the exhibit.

Rivera helped bring together artwork from 35 artists whose creations all have a Latino theme, according to Gail Siegel, director of the Office of Community Affairs at CU-Boulder, which helped sponsor the exhibit. The exhibit will showcase two- and three-dimensional art and multimedia works.

"I am pleased that the Office of Community Affairs at CU-Boulder has partnered with the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts to help bring forth this exhibit," Siegel said. "This exhibit is a positive collaboration between CU-Boulder, the Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts and the Glenwood Springs community, as all three entities join in this celebration of Latino art and culture."

Artwork from Rivera and more than 30 other artists from throughout Colorado will be on display, including works from more than 20 artists with ties to CU.

The Glenwood Springs Center for the Arts is located at 601 E. 6th St. in Glenwood Springs, and is open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.
