The University of Colorado at Boulder will begin removing six structures in the Grandview Terrace area on June 18th, CU facilities management officials said today.

Jeff Lipton, executive director of Facilities Management, said none of the first six buildings received offers for relocation.

The following buildings are slated for demolition: 1229 University Ave., 1230 Grandview Ave., 1425 15th St., and garages at 1232 Grandview Ave., 1434 15th St. and 1332 Grandview Ave. Removal of these structures should be completed by July 30, 2001. Additional buildings to be removed by the end of August are at 1450 15th St. and 1444 15th St. Anderado and Co. Inc. Aurora, Colo., is the contractor for the project.

In the meantime, relocation plans are being pursued for six other Grandview buildings. Individuals who submitted relocation packages and received authorization to relocate Grandview Terrace structures, under an agreement between the university, Historic Boulder and the City of Boulder, are in the process of obtaining the necessary city and county approvals for relocation.

The six buildings that may be relocated are: 1221 University Ave., 1424 15th St., 1434 15th St., 1513 13th St., 1433/35 13th St., and 1225 Grandview Ave.
