Local students were among the 4,043 students who received degrees May 11 during spring commencement at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The ceremony was held in Folsom Stadium on the CU-Boulder campus.

The Chancellor's Recognition Award for students receiving all As in their college careers was given to Rebecca Prull of Broomfield, Colo., who received a bachelor's degree in environmental, population and organismic biology, and Tye Rattenbury of Littleton, Colo., who received a bachelor's degree in applied mathematics.

Outstanding graduates named by the schools and colleges for the spring 2001 commencement were Jill Strange of Englewood, Colo., College of Architecture and Planning, bachelor's degree in planning; Jessica Schilling of Muscatine, Iowa, School of Journalism, double bachelor's degrees in journalism/news editorial and music arts; Adam Schwalje of Louisville, Colo., College of Music, double bachelor's degrees in music performance and in molecular, cellular and developmental biology.

Also named as outstanding graduates were Nicholas Idler of Kirk, Colo., College of Business and Administration, bachelor's degree in information systems and master's degree in telecommunications, concurrently; Seah Johnson of Sante Fe, N.M., College of Arts and Sciences, bachelor of fine arts in theater; Melinda Roskos of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., College of Engineering and Applied Science, bachelor's degree in chemical engineering; and Lisa Wilcox of Grand Junction,Colo., School of Education, bachelor's degree in humanities, diploma in education (certificate program).
