Science Discovery at the University of Colorado and the CU Museum of Natural History will provide hands-on activities as part of the Pueblo Zoo's "Dinosaur Day" on Saturday, May 12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The program will be presented regardless of the weather. Other presenters include the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and Canon City's Dinosaur Depot.

Children of all ages can discover clues from the past with a variety of Science Discovery activities, including creating dinosaur breath out of chalk and vinegar, identifying dinosaur footprints found throughout the zoo, playing dinosaur games and making dinosaur teeth. Visitors will be able to meet a real paleontologist and learn about the adaptations and behaviors of some of Colorado's famous past residents.

Children also will learn "what makes a dinosaur, a dinosaur," create museum logs and identify CU Museum of Natural History fossils.

"Dinosaur Day" is sponsored by the CU-Boulder Office of Community Affairs, the University of Colorado Alumni Association of Pueblo, TARGET Distribution, SCA Insurance, Innotrac Corp. and Little Caesars.

The Pueblo Zoo is located in Pueblo's City Park at 3455 Nuckolls Ave. Activities are free with paid zoo admission: $4 for adults, $2 for children ages 3-16.
