The chief executive officer of Lehman Brothers Inc., an alumnus of the CU-Boulder College of Business, will deliver the commencement address at the college's Graduate School of Business recognition ceremony on Friday, May 11.

Richard S. Fuld, chairman and CEO of the global investment bank, will speak at 5:30 p.m. in Macky Auditorium on the Boulder campus.

While at CU-Boulder, Fuld developed some of the leadership skills that later contributed to his success in the business world; he participated in CU's Naval ROTC program and was president of the Alpha Tau Omega fraternity.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in international business, Fuld joined Lehman Brothers in 1969. There he served in various upper-management positions until he became CEO in 1993. Fuld is now a director of the New York Stock Exchange and a member of the University of Colorado Business Advisory Council.

Lehman Brothers Inc. serves the financial needs of high net-worth investors worldwide. Lehman Brothers was ranked 11th in Business Week's best-performing companies in the Standard & Poor's 500 stock index. The company earned a net income of $387 million for the first quarter of 2001.
