A search committee has been named to seek a director of diversity for the College of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The new position will address the College of Business's commitment to diversity issues. James Marlatt, senior instructor of information systems, is serving as interim director.

"We are committed to expanding the diversity programs we're currently offering and to implementing new initiatives," said College of Business Dean Steven Manaster. "This is an important focus of our school and we look forward to appointing a director to lead these activities."

The diversity director will report to the dean and will develop and implement programs for the recruitment and retention of underrepresented students and first-generation business students. The position will direct the administrative management of diversity programs, program development in recruitment and retention, public relations and marketing, budget oversight and fund-raising.

The search committee is chaired by Barry Lewis, professor of accounting. Candidates must have a bachelor's degree and work experience in program development and administration, fund-raising and counseling in multicultural organizations.
