On Saturday, March 17, Nikolay Malyshev, head of Russia's federal program on the application of information technologies to education, will tour high-tech classrooms at EduQuest, 1059 N. Yosemite St., Building 758, from noon to 2 p.m. on the site of the former Lowry Air Force Base.

Malyshev is visiting Colorado as part of an effort to develop distance education in Russia in cooperation with leading schools and industries around the world. His March 14-19 visit is sponsored by the Interdisciplinary Telecommunications Program at CU-Boulder with support from an Excellence Grant awarded by the Colorado Commission on Higher Education.

Malyshev is a member of the Russian Academy of Science and has been an adviser to the president of Russia on science and higher education. He visited three CU campuses and also met with CU President Elizabeth Hoffman, state officials and industry executives during his visit.
