For 25 years the CU Trivia Bowl has carried on an infamous and fun tradition, with names of the competing teams ranging from the ridiculous to the scandalous, and perfectly reflecting the culture of the day.

This year's competition carries on the tradition with team names ranging from Einstein's Illegitimate Children, and Could You Repeat the Question? to Guys Interrupted and The Sixth Sequel.

The "Ramona" team, a long-standing tradition throughout the history of the Bowl, also makes a comeback this year as "Ramona of the 21st Century." Brian Spinneto, son of former captain and team player of past "Ramona" teams Mark Spinneto, captains this year's team as a second-generation player.

The original "Ramona and Her Trained Burrow Bob" team was begun and captained in 1973 by JC Ancell, now associate director of the UMC and advisor to the student organization sponsoring the bowl. Over the years the Ramona team has had many different names and players who have passed the torch year to year.

Other team names have resurfaced at various times in the competitions as well. In 1983 the "Herpes the Love Bug" team made an appearance and returned again in 1986 as "Herpes the Love Bug -- Hair Today, Gonorrhea Tomorrow."

"Fed Up With People, The Sequel," "The Unbearable Lightness of Being Oprah Winfrey," "Damn Frankies," and "Women on The Nerve of a Virgin Breakdown," are some of the new irreverent and humorous team name tributes to our culture's icons.
