Local students were among the 1,888 students who received degrees Dec. 22 in commencement ceremonies at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

The ChancellorÂ’s Recognition Award for graduates receiving all AÂ’s during their college careers was given to Marion Brew of Boulder, who received a bachelorÂ’s degree in classics.

Outstanding graduates named by the schools and colleges for the fall 2000 commencement were Quynh Thuy Phan of Boulder, College of Business and Administration, double bachelorÂ’s degrees in business administration (management) and in psychology; Phillipa Emily Jack of Nederland, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, bachelorÂ’s degree in journalism (news-editorial); Heather Doty of Denver, College of Engineering and Applied Science, bachelorÂ’s and masterÂ’s degrees in civil engineering and a bachelorÂ’s degree in music.

Also named as outstanding graduates were Michael Meresman of Boulder, College of Music, bachelorÂ’s degree in music arts; Jaime Jennings of Castle Rock, College of Arts and Sciences, bachelorÂ’s degree in humanities; Frederick W. Keesy of Boulder, School of Education, bachelorÂ’s degree in English, diploma in education (certificate program); Jennifer Lynn Preston of Louisville, Colo., College of Architecture and Planning, bachelorÂ’s degree in architecture.
