Beta Gamma Sigma is the honor society for business programs accredited by the AACSB, the International Association for Management Education, the premier accreditation organization for colleges such as the College of Business. The society encourages and honors academic achievement in the study of business, and personal and professional excellence in the practice of business.

Membership in Beta Gamma Sigma is the highest recognition a business student can receive while enrolled in an undergraduate or master's program at a school accredited by the AACSB.

As faculty sponsor for the college's chapter, Lymberopoulos spearheads the BSG's activities at CU-Boulder. The university has been involved with BGS since 1939, when the College of Business was admitted to the organization. The college currently has 55 members who develop scholarly activities, participate in community programs, and take part in the college's various professional societies. They also are active in student government.
