Twenty-five Buffalo Hug pillows will be delivered to Boulder Community Hospital's pediatrics ward and emergency room on Tuesday, Oct. 24, at 1:30 p.m. by several CU athletes and coaches as part of a community outreach program of CU-BoulderÂ’s Office of Community Affairs.

The Buffalo Hugs are black and gold 19" fleece pillows embroidered with the CU Buffalo logo. The pillows are being donated by CU's departments of Licensing and Athletics to comfort young patients while they are in the hospital and "because every kid needs a hug," according to Wynn Martens, director of the Office of Community Affairs.

Boulder Community Hospital President and CEO Dave Gehant and the Director of Women's Family Services Lori Lisk will be on hand to welcome the athletes in the lobby of the hospital at Alpine and Broadway streets in Boulder.

The Buffalo Hug is a trademarked exclusive design of the Anybuddy, Hug in a Bag pillow. Tops of the Rockies, a licensee for the university and the Anybuddy manufacturer, have also aided in the donation.

Participating CU athletes will include: Josh Notting (ski), Jessi Burgener (soccer), Craig Ochs (football), Eric Meyer (ski), Erin Kerr and Jolene Fellhauer (golf), Melissa Cangialosi (CU Express Dance Team), and Roman Hollowell (football).
