University of Colorado football fans will have the chance to help BoulderÂ’s needy families while they cheer on the Buffs against the Oklahoma State Cowboys on Saturday, Oct. 28.

CU-Boulder and Community Food Share will host a food drive at Folsom Stadium that day to collect canned and other non-perishable food, as well as cash contributions, from fans as they enter the stadium.

Oct. 28 is national "Make a Difference Day," designed to promote service activities to benefit the needy and disadvantaged. All donations will go to Community Food Share of Boulder County, which serves more than 115 nonprofit organizations.

The food drive is co-hosted by the CU Athletic Department and the CU-Boulder Office of Community Affairs. Both departments plan to make this food drive an annual event.
