Jack Stack, a nationally known speaker and entrepreneur, will discuss management issues at the CU-Boulder College of Business on Sept. 28.

As the president and CEO of SRC Holdings Corp., Stack spearheaded the turnaround of Springfield Remanufacturing Corp. in the 1980s.

He and his managers invested $100,000 toward a loan of $9 million, a debt ratio of 89-1, and acquired the company for 10 cents per share. In 1993, the company's shares were valued near $20 for the employee stock option plan. Company sales approached $100 million.

Stack will speak from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. in room 224 of the CU-Boulder College of Business.

A well-known speaker and author, Stack wrote "The Great Game of Business" about his company's system of open-book management." The book includes 10 higher laws of business including: you give what you get, itÂ’s easy to stop one guy, but itÂ’s pretty hard to stop 100, you do what you gotta do and you gotta wanna.

Stack is a board member of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards Institute. He also is a featured instructor at an annual MBA management seminar held at the MIT and Harvard business schools.
