Elease Robbins, interim associate vice chancellor for student affairs and dean of students at the University of Colorado at Boulder, has been appointed to the position on a permanent basis, according to Ron Stump, vice chancellor for student affairs.

The appointment was approved by the Board of Regents on Aug. 3 and is effective Aug. 4.

Robbins has held the position on an interim basis for the past year. The salary is $85,000.

"EleaseÂ’s skills, experience and perspective on issues have already caused an impact within Student Affairs and within student life in general," said Stump.

"I am pleased, as are many others, with this appointment and I am looking forward to our continuing working relationship."

Robbins, a CU-Boulder employee since 1981, has previously served as associate ombudsperson and university counselor with the Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) and Counseling and Career Services.

She is completing a master's degree in public administration with emphasis in human resource management and public policy at the University of Colorado at Denver.

RobbinsÂ’ work will continue to focus on student life issues and the campus Building Community campaign. She and Stump will share contact with student groups and programs. Her office is located in the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs in Regent Administrative Center.

The division of student affairs is one of three major administrative divisions at CU-Boulder. It is comprised of 17 departments that provide programs and services which significantly impact the quality of life and education of CU-Boulder students, including housing, career services, counseling, judicial affairs, the Student Academic Services Center and the Cultural Unity Center.

Student affairs also co-manages several departments with the University of Colorado Student Union, including Recreation Services, Wardenburg Health Center, the University Memorial Center, Women's Resource Center, Victim Assistance and the Student Organization Finance Office.
