The University of Colorado at Boulder's Philosophy Elder Program of Colorado will host its next meeting on Wednesday, June 28, at 7:30 p.m., continuing the monthly series that explores a variety of enduring philosophical questions and problems.

The meeting will be at The Academy, 970 Aurora Ave., in Boulder.

This monthÂ’s topic, "The Rationality of Religious Beliefs" will be led by philosophy Professor George Bealer. Local seniors and friends are invited to participate in the free program.

Topics of the program focus on perennial questions in philosophy including free will and determinism, moral theory and human nature, and the practical applications of philosophy such as biomedical and environmental ethics. Other philosophical questions likely to interest senior participants also are discussed including the meaning of life, philosophy of religion, personal identity over a lifetime and bioethics at the end of life.

Topics for future meetings will be determined by the guests in attendance at the previous meeting.

The program is brought to the Boulder community by a partnership between The Academy, the CU-Boulder department of philosophyÂ’s Center for Values and Social Policy and the CU-Boulder Outreach Committee.
