High school students from throughout Colorado will participate in CU-BoulderÂ’s Business Leadership Program June 11-17, sponsored by the College of Business and local corporations.

The free program offers 30 outstanding minority students the opportunity to get a head start on their college careers.

To qualify for the program, these African American, Hispanic/Latino, Asian, American Indian and multiracial/biracial high school juniors must demonstrate leadership potential. They also must possess an interest in business-related fields and maintain excellent academic standards, making them some of the most talented students in the state.

During the program, the students will learn critical business and computer skills and will put those skills into practice by competing in an advertising campaign to win a $1,000 scholarship to the CU-Boulder College of Business. The students also will interact with guest speakers from major corporations, as well as business faculty members and administrators.

Each high schooler will be a "CU Student for a Day" and socialize with College of Business students and peers from different high schools. They also will go to the movies and bowl and ice skate.

The free program includes the cost of tuition, room and board. For more information, please call (303) 492-1808.
