The Center for Asian Studies at the University of Colorado at Boulder will host a spring reception on Friday, April 21, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Hale Science Building room 450.
The reception will bring together faculty and graduate students in all fields and regions of Asian Studies from colleges across the state. Asian refreshments will be provided at the reception, which is free and open to all Colorado area faculty and graduate students in Asian Studies.
"Our spring reception is an enjoyable way for faculty on different campuses across the Front Range to come together and share their common interests and research activities in the interdisciplinary field of Asian Studies," said Dennis McGilvray, Asian studies professor and center director.
A brief report on center events and activities will be followed by an opportunity for guests to introduce themselves and explain the nature of their work or interests in Asian Studies. The reception will conclude with CU-Boulder music Professor Jay Keister, who will offer a short lecture and performance of traditional Japanese music accompanied by dancer Mami Itasaka at 5:30 p.m.
Metered parking is available in the lot near the corner of Broadway and Pennsylvania Avenue and along University Avenue north of the Hale Science Building. Parking also is available in the Euclid Avenue Autopark, east of Broadway on Euclid Avenue near the University Memorial Center.
