A photo exhibit, "Shades of Intimacy: Exploring the Mystery of Relationship . . . With Ourselves, With Each Other, Without Bounds," is now on display at CU-Boulder's Norlin Library.

The exhibit runs through June 14 at the Norlin Library art gallery, located on the third floor in the northwest section of the building.

The exhibit marks the first showing of Boulder photographer Jan Autrey's black and white nudes. A reception for the artist will be on Friday, April 21, from 7 p.m. to p.m. in the British Studies Room on the 5th floor northwest in Norlin.

Autrey's photos are the embodiment of her longtime passion for capturing life's beauty on film.

"I was not interested in just taking pictures of people. I was interested in capturing their essence and who they were in their most comfortable moments, their most natural settings," says Autrey.

"This show is not just a collection of photographs, it is so much of who I am and my belief that we are all loving human beings - gays, lesbians, bisexuals, heterosexuals - trying to gain respect and a comfortable place to exist in the world."

Autrey hopes that each visitor will find a connection to the show and leave with "a more open mind and an expanded heart."

The exhibit is sponsored by Norlin Libraries, the CU-Boulder Center for Humanities and the Arts, the Open Door Fund through the Community Foundation Serving Boulder County, the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender Resource Center and Boulder Pride.
