Three library buildings at the University of Colorado at Boulder are now equipped with "Team Technology Rooms" where students can use electronic equipment and computer software to prepare class presentations and projects.

The CU-Boulder Libraries teamed up with Information Technology Services on campus to convert nine group study rooms in Norlin Library, the William M. White Business Library and the L.H. Gemill Engineering Library into Team Technology Rooms.

The rooms opened in January and February and were funded by student fees allocated by the Student Computing Fee Committee. Three rooms at each location share a printer and scanner, and one room is equipped with a data projector. Each room has a SMART Board, or a whiteboard that transmits writing, diagrams and drawings from the board's surface to a computer installed in the study room.

Available computer software includes Netscape 4.7, Internet Explorer 5.01, Microsoft NetMeeting, Microsoft Office 97 Pro, Microsoft FrontPage 2000, Adobe Photoshop 5.5, Acrobat Reader 4 and SMART Notebook 2.11.

Rooms are available by reservation and keys must be checked out at the circulation desk at each library. Rooms can be reserved through the CU-Boulder Libraries Web-based catalog, Chinook. The "Team Technology Room" button is on the front page of Chinook.
