University of Colorado basketball fans can attend the womenÂ’s and menÂ’s games for just $1 on Nov. 27 and Dec. 2 by bringing a donation of a packaged, unprepared dessert to assist needy families during the holidays.

Packaged, unprepared desserts such as cake, brownie or cookie mixes will be collected at the Nov. 27 and Dec. 2 games. On Nov. 27, the Coors Classic womenÂ’s games will include a 5 p.m. matchup between Miami and George Mason, and a 7 p.m. contest between CU and Idaho. On Dec. 2, the menÂ’s team will play Virginia Commonwealth at 7 p.m. All games are at the Coors Events/Conference Center on the Boulder campus.

Each individual who brings a donation will receive admission to that game for just $1. This is up to $5 off the price of an adult regular admission ticket. In addition, each child who accompanies a paying adult will receive free admission to the game as part of Daily Camera Youth Night.

The desserts will be distributed to low-income families in Boulder County through the Holiday Food Basket program, which strives to provide a complete meal, including desserts, to these families for the holidays. Desserts, however, are in very low supply and are not regularly donated to the program.

The dessert drive is co-hosted by the CU Athletic Department, Student Athlete Advisory Committee, CU-Boulder Office of Community Relations, CU-Boulder Staff Council and the ChancellorÂ’s Office.
