"Center of the American WestÂ’s Fourth Annual Distinguished Lecture," presented by Teresa Jordan and Hal Cannon.
Jordan is the author of "Cowgirls," a collection of portraits of Western women working in ranching and rodeo. She also has edited several collections of Western women writers. Cannon, a Western folklorist, is the founder of the influential Center for Western Folklife.
Lecture is Thursday, Oct. 8, at 7 p.m. in the Conference Center of the Denver Public Library at 10 W. 14th Ave. Parkway and Friday, Oct. 9, 7 p.m., in Old Main Chapel, CU-Boulder campus.

"Hidden Legacies of Mass Incarceration," a panel discussion by Associate Professors Lane Hirabayashi and Kumiko Takahara and Gwenn Jensen, Ph.D., of the political science department.
The panel will feature overviews of the panelists' research on the Colorado Treason Trial, resettlement to Denver as of 1946, and the long- and short-term impact of the interment camps on nisei health.
