Five finalists for dean of the School of Education at the University of Colorado at Boulder will begin campus visits on Sunday, April 13.
Following campus visits by each of the five finalists the search committee, chaired by Engineering Dean Ross Corotis, will make its final recommendation on the position to Wallace Loh, vice chancellor for academic affairs.
The finalists, their current positions and the dates of their campus visits are:
•Ann D. Thompson, director of the Center for Technology in Learning and Teaching and professor of curriculum and instruction, Iowa State University. April 13-15.
•James Louis Heap, professor and chair, department of theory and policy studies and chair of several graduate programs, Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. April 16-18
•Enrique (Henry) Torres Trueba, visiting professor of human development and psychology, Graduate School of Education, Harvard University. April 20-22
•Robert E. Floden, professor of teacher education and educational psychology, College of Education, Michigan State University. April 25-28
•Robert J. Tierney, director, School of Teaching and Learning, College of Education, Ohio State University. Dates of Tierney’s visit will be announced.
Interim Dean Lorrie Shepard has led the School of Education since former Dean Phil DiStefano left the post last September to become associate vice chancellor for undergraduate education. He had been dean since 1986.
