Dr. Richard Alfaro-Diaz, a 2019 Ph.D. graduate in Geological Sciences from the University of Texas at El Paso, serves as a Research Scientist in the Geophysics Group of the Earth and Environmental Sciences Division at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Specializing in seismology, his expertise encompasses micro-seismicity, source characterization, and seismic hazards. At Los Alamos, his work is centered on enhancing seismic source characterization and applications for nuclear explosion monitoring. He is dedicated to developing innovative techniques to exploit seismic signals, driven by a commitment to contribute to national security.
