Dr. Isis Frausto-Vicencio is an Air Pollution Specialist at the California Air Resources Board focused on understanding and mitigating methane emissions using remote sensing techniques. She is daughter of immigrant parents from Zacatecas, Mexico. Isis is a first-generation college student and attended the College of the Sequoias before transferring to the University of California, Los Angeles where she obtained a B.S. in Chemistry with a Minor in Atmospheric Sciences. Following her interest in studying greenhouse gases, she obtained a Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences at the University of California, Riverside. Her dissertation work centered on quantifying methane emissions from dairy farms and wildfires in the San Joaquin Valley using ground-based solar spectroscopy.
