I am an Engineering Geologist at the California State Regional Water Quality Control Board. Prior to that, I worked for several years as a geologist at a private environmental consulting company.  I earned my MSc,. from CalPoly Pomona where I used a temporary seismic network to detect and locate micro-earthquakes in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains.  This upcoming spring semester I will be returning to CalPoly as a lab instructor for  Dr. Jascha Polet’s Advanced Shallow Subsurface Geophysics course. I am thrilled to return to CalPoly in this capacity and look forward to mentoring students on campus. My interests are broad and ever-growing, ranging from seismology to groundwater quality monitoring. I am a proud first-generation Mexican American and, through organizations like SOLESS, aim to create community within industry and make the geosciences inclusive and accessible.
