Dr. Annareli Morales is a first-generation, Mexican-American raised in a low-income, single parent home in Cicero, IL, USA. She earned her atmospheric science degrees from the University of Illinois, Colorado State University, and the University of Michigan. She has supported field campaigns with education and outreach in Argentina and published research on applying cultural communication styles to engage Hispanic and Latinx adults as an NCAR Advanced Studies Program postdoctoral fellow. Annareli worked as a research scientist with the NOAA Cooperative Institute for Research in Environmental Science researching precipitation over mountains and the physical processes involved with cloud and precipitation development. She is now an Air Quality Policy Analyst for the Weld County Department of Public and Environmental Health in Colorado. She's active in the American Meteorological Society and consistently champions diversity and inclusion initiatives. Annareli advocates for diversity, neurodiversity, inclusion, mental health, bilingual science communication, and “K-to-Gray” education and outreach in atmospheric sciences.
