1. Volunteer

The Volunteer Resource Center can help you find the right volunteer opportunities to fit your schedule and interests this summer. Check out the CUServes database to connect with local nonprofits, campus offices and community events.
2. Work on campus
In addition to earning money and gaining experience for your resume, working on campus can be convenient and allows you to get to know fellow Buffs. There are many opportunities for students to work at CU Boulder, with some departments hiring now for positions starting in the summer or fall. Here are some departments that are currently hiring:
- Campus Dining Services Catering is hiring.
- CU Conference Services is hiring residential services assistants and conference operations assistants.
- Recreation Services is seeking applicants for a variety of positions including lifeguards, guest services, group fitness instructors, personal trainers and more.
- Student Affairs Communication is hiring a video and social content creator.
- Off-Campus Housing & Neighborhood Relations is hiring front desk assistants, commuter peer mentors and neighborhood ambassadors for the fall semester.
- The Academic Success and Achievement Program (ASAP) is hiring tutor mentors for the fall semester.
- The UMC is hiring security guards, reception desk staff and cashiers at The Connection.
- The Environmental Center is hiring for bike mechanics, zero waste event assistants and more.
3. Connect with Career Services
Consider using your time this summer to make progress on your career goals and prepare for job or internship searches.

- Join to get job-searching tips and resources.
4. Join a student board
There are multiple student boards at CU Boulder that help create policy, plan events, implement programs and more. Consider joining a student board this summer or fall to meet new people and make a difference in your campus community.
5. Visit the Rec Center
Whether you’re wanting to be active, meet others or try something new, the Rec Center has something for everyone. At the Rec Center, you can:
- Get outdoors and rent equipment from the Outdoor Program.
- Sign up for a tennis or martial arts instruction class.
- Try out the outdoor Fitness Court.
- Swim in the Buff Pool.
- Join Free Fridays at the Rec starting in June.
