Join Us in Saving Lives: CU Boulder Staff Council Blood Drive on November 14, 15, 16, 2023

Kick off the season of giving with the gift of life on November 14th through 16th, 2023. CU Boulder Staff Council and are providing staff, students, faculty, and community members an opportunity to make a significant impact in the Boulder area by donating blood that goes to local area hospitals.
Play a vital role in saving lives by donating blood without even leaving the beauty of campus. CU Boulder Staff Council is hosting a blood drive at the Student Recreation Center in the Ice Rink Overlook room.
Time: Appointments are available starting at 10 a.m., and the last appointment is at 2:15 p.m.each day. Walk-in times are available, but if you can, please schedule an appointment using the links in the list below.
Why: Donating blood is a selfless and impactful act of kindness, and each donation can save up to three different lives. Hospitals in the area and medical facilities rely on voluntary blood donors to provide a steady blood supply for medical procedures, surgeries, and emergencies.
In the September 2023 blood drive, CU exceeded all the drive goals regarding total donations, and the three-day blood drive collected enough blood to save 565 lives! Staff council is challenging the CU community to do even better this November.
How to prepare:
- Review eligibility criteria:
- Eat a healthy meal and stay hydrated before your donation appointment
- Bring a valid photo ID
- Try and get a good night’s sleep the day before
You can also donate at several other Vitalant locations; just use the code “0248” when making an appointment on the Vitalant website so your donation is attributed to CU.
